A number of miscellaneous items were on the agenda for the Hamburg City Council during a relatively brief meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 13.
In one item of business, the council approved a service agreement for joint assessment with Carver County at about a five percent increase for 2013 and 2014. Rates are $11.50 per residential valuation, $12 per agriculture property and $13 for commercial properties.
In addition, the council approved temporary on-sale liquor licenses for the Hamburg Lions Club for a number of upcoming events, including the Firemen’s Dance on Jan. 12, the Pheasants Forever banquet on Jan. 19, the Green Isle CPA banquet on Jan. 26 and the Hamburg Hunt and Fish Club fish fry on Feb. 2.
In other business, the council will hold a budget workshop on Tuesday, Dec. 4. and a second November meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 27.
