Holy Family hosts Night to Fight event

More than 115 Holy Family Catholic High School students (in partnership with 60 students from three other Catholic high schools, Totino Grace, DeLasalle and Cretin-Derham Hall) hosted the first Night to Fight Homeless event at Holy Family in Victoria on Nov. 9. Students gathered pledges and slept outside in boxes on the school’s soccer fields in an effort to raise awareness of and funds for programs that help those without shelter. Holy Family students received more than $10,000 in donations for the Simpson House. The entire event was planned by students and included a simple meal of soup and bread, prayer, a concert by HF musicians, and a presentation by the director of the Simpson House, Michelle Guion. Here, Anna Hanson (Eden Prairie), Elsa Fering (Chaska), Abby Bletzer (Mound), Ali-Ryan Mosley (Minnetonka), Hayley Thompson (Eden Prairie), and Savannah Kiffmeyer (Minnetonka) are shown during the event.
