Three WHS seniors sign
Stephanie Dressen signed a letter of intent on Nov. 15 to play women’s basketball at Northern State University next fall. Dressen is a two-sport athlete at WHS, also playing volleyball. She is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and volunteers for a variety of events outside of school. Dressen is the daughter of Bob and Brenda Dressen. Northern State University is a Division II school located in Aberdeen, South Dakota. The NSU Wolves compete in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, with 13 other schools such as St. Cloud State, MSU – Mankato, and Wayne State College.
After making waves for the Wildcats on the volleyball court, Anna Pioske signed Nov. 16 to the University of North Dakota for volleyball in 2013. This season, Pioske was recognized as one of three WHS volleyball players to ever reach over 1,000 career kills. At Waconia, Pioske also runs track, while participating in Peer Mentors, Peer Helpers, the International Club, America Reads, and the National Honor Society. She is the daughter of Brian and Patty Pioske of Waconia. The University of North Dakota is a Division I school located in Grand Forks, North Dakota. UND volleyball recently joined the Big Sky conference, competing with 11 other schools such as Idaho State, Montana State, and Northern Arizona.
On Nov. 16, Matt Rachey signed a letter of intent to play golf with the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities next fall. He is a three-time state participant, finishing fourth in 2012, and is a two-time All-Conference award winner. He finished the 2012 season third in the WCC. At Waconia High School, Rachey is also a starting member of the basketball team, and participates in Peer Helpers, Peer Mentors, and the National Honor Society. He is the son of Keith and LuAnn Rachey of Waconia. The University of Minnesota is a Division I school located in Minneapolis. The Golden Gophers compete in the Big 10 conference, with 11 other schools such as the UW– Madison, Michigan State, and the University of Iowa.
