Mary D. Kirsch, age 94, of Waconia, passed away on Friday, Nov. 23, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waconia.
Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waconia with Father Bennett Tran as celebrant of the Mass; visitation was one hour prior to the Mass at church; interment St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.
Mary was born on Feb. 13, 1918 in Dayton, Minn., the daughter of John C. and Anna B. (Laumann) Meuffels. She was baptized and confirmed in Dayton. On June 6, 1939 Mary was united in marriage to Albin J. Kirsch at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waconia.
Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo and working on her puzzles. Mary volunteered at the Once Again Shop in Waconia and had worked for Meals on Wheels. She could bake some of the most amazing cookies. In her spare time Mary would work on crafts and quilt blankets. Mary liked listening to old tyme music. She was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and the Catholic Aid.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband Albin; father and mother John and Anna Meuffels; brothers Joseph and Herman Meuffels; sisters Catherine Borka, Josephine Antonia; sister-in-law Ethel Meuffels.
Mary is survived by her loving family: daughter and son-in-law Lucy and Carl Schuth of Waconia; grandchildren and spouses Eric and Lisa Hellerud-Schuth, Christina and Kevin Roles; great-grandchildren Dylan, Amanda and Cody Hellerud-Schuth, Zackary and Samuel Roles; sisters-in-law Dorothy Meuffels of Waconia, Cathy Borka of Grand Marias; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
