Michelle “Micki” Gilliam, age 49, of Cologne, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012 at the Marie Steiner Kelting Hospice House in Chaska.
Memorial Mass Of Christian Burial held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2012 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church (210 Church Street East) in Cologne with Fr. Gregory Abbott as celebrant. Visitation held at the church Friday at 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Interment in the church cemetery.
Michelle P. “Micki” Gilliam was born July 29, 1963 in Minneapolis the daughter of James and Sheila (Tobin) Fenlon. She was baptized as an infant at Church of The Assumption in South Minneapolis. She grew up in South Minneapolis and was a graduate of the Bloomington Jefferson High School. After Michelle attended Grinnell College in Iowa she made her home in California. For the past few years she has lived in Waconia and Cologne.
Michelle was a devoted faithful mother to her nine children. She centered her day around their education and activities. Until her illness, Michelle home schooled all of her children. She enjoyed listening to classical music and baking. Michelle will be remembered for her great sense of humor and her fun loving personality.
Michelle is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Emmet and Isabel Tobin, paternal grandparents Gerald and Mildred Fenlon.
Michelle is survived by her loving family; children Orion Gilliam and his wife Kim, Aurora Gilliam, Theodore Gilliam, Alexander Gilliam, Rose Gilliam, Isabel Gilliam, Natalie Gilliam, Sophia Gilliam, Seamus Gilliam; mother Sheila Hanson and her husband Duane of Eagen; father Jim Fenlon and his wife Mary Ann of Del Ray Beach, Fla.; sister Amy Tatge and her husband Scot of Watertown; brother Timothy Fenlon of San Jose, Calif.; niece and nephew Morgan and Wyatt Tatge; as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
