St. Nick’s Dinner
FRIDAY, DEC. 7 — St. Bernard’s is hosting St. Nick’s Dinner & Entertainment from 5:30 to 10 p.m. in the school cafeteria. Dinner, entertainment and live auction. Childcare available. Contact the school for ticket information at (952) 466-5917.
Breakfast with Santa
SATURDAY, DEC. 8 — Come out to the NYA Pavilion at 9 a.m. for a light breakfast and a chance for kids to see Santa. Cost for children is $5/ticket regardless of age. Tickets are on sale at the Flower Mill.
Christmas in the park
SATURDAY, DEC. 8 — Celebrate Christmas in the Park from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lions Park in Cologne. Event includes a visit from Santa, horse pulled wagon rides, a bonfire with a s’more station and more. Candy cane hunt at 4:30 p.m., tree lighting at 5 p.m. and Christmas caroling from 5 to 6 p.m. If conditions allow, there will also be sledding. Chili, hotdogs, hot chocolate and coffee will be available for purchase from the Lions! The shelter will also be heated this year for added comfort, and there will also be a place to drop off items for the fire department’s local toy drive.
Singing Friends shows
SATURDAY, DEC. 8 AND SUNDAY, DEC. 9 — The Singing Friends Chorus, a 30-voice local community choir, will present Christmas concerts at 2 p.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church, New Germany on Saturday, and at 2 p.m. at First Congregational UCC in Glencoe on Sunday. There will be a freewill donation and refreshments will be served after the concerts.
SUNDAY, DEC. 9 — Trinity Lutheran Church (513 Madison SE, Watertown) presents its annual Christmas concert at 4 p.m. This year’s Celtic rich Tapestry of Light concert features youth and adult choirs, bell choir and instrumentalists under the direction of Joyce Harding. Public welcome. Social reception follows concert in fellowship hall.
History group meeting
THURSDAY, DEC. 13 — The quarterly meeting of the Willkommen Heritage and Preservation Society will be held at the Heritage Center (102 E Main Street, NYA) and will begin at 7 p.m. Topics of discussion will be planning for the Annual Meeting in February and the display for spring. All members and anyone interested in the history of NYA are welcome! Questions, call LaVonne at (952) 467-3214.
SATURDAY, DEC. 15 — Carver Scott Humane Society volunteers will hold a pet adoption from noon to 3 p.m. at PETCO in Eden Prairie. Info: (952) 368-3553 or www.carverscotths.org.
SATURDAY, DEC. 15 — The Carver County Historical Society is hosting an Old-Fashioned Pioneer Christmas from noon to 3 p.m. (555 W 1st Street, Waconia). This is a free event. Learn how the pioneer settlers may have celebrated. Make old-fashioned ornaments, gifts from a simpler time, and hear Christmas tales of old as you enjoy hot cocoa or cider. This event is for kids and adults of all ages.
