A St. Lucia Celebration will be held from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Waconia Faith Lutheran Church (800 Waconia Parkway N) on Saturday, Dec. 15.
St. Lucia, one of the foremost cultural traditions in Sweden and the other Scandinavian Countries is a symbol of light and hope, she comes on the darkest day of the year to herald this joyous season with singing, feasting and the spirit of friendship and goodwill towards all.
Come experience a wonderful Scandinavian winter tradition celebrating the beginning of the Christmas season.  Traditional Scandinavian pastries and beverages will be served, our own Shelly Hilgers will provide musical entertainment, children will enjoy making Lucia crafts, meet this years St. Lucia-Queen of Light, and listen to Traditional Scandinavian stories. Baked goods and treats will also be for sale.
It is free to the community and all are welcome.
