Earl Robert Mielke, age 78, of New Germany, Minnesota, passed away on Wednesday, Dec.12, 2012, at Good Samaritan Care Center in Waconia. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, 11 a.m. at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, Pastor Er9ic Nelson officiating. Interment in the church cemetery.
Earl was born on Sept.15, 1934, in Watertown. He was the son of Emil and Bertha (Dennin) Mielke. Earl was baptized as an infant on Oct. 7, 1934, by Pastor Ernst at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hollywood, Minnesota, and was later confirmed in his faith as a youth on March 21, 1948, by Pastor R. A. Ritz at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie. He received his education in Lester Prairie and was a graduate of the Lester Prairie High School Class of 1952. Earl was awarded from the State Council of Minnesota Colleges the honor of “highest ranking boy in the Class of 1952”.
Earl made his home in New Germany on his grandfather’s farm that was purchased in 1905. His life’s work and passion was farming on that family farm. Earl was a member at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, Minnesota.
Earl enjoyed repairing and improving machines, plants, animals and listening to the Lutheran Hour. He was always looking for new ideas for better farming. Earl cherished the time spent with his friends and neighbors.
Earl passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at Good Samaritan Care Center in Waconia, Minnesota, at the age of 78 years, 2 months and 27 days. Earl has claimed his gift and is now enjoying his eternal life.

Earl is preceded in death by his Parents, Emil and Bertha Mielke.
