Fish house raffle
The Waconia High School Conservation Club is selling raffle tickets for its annual Fish House Raffle. Proceeds help fund conservation, outdoor events. Tickets: Wayne Trapp at (952) 237-0503. Raffle will be held on Jan. 5, 2013.
Seniors Only Seminar
THURSDAY, DEC. 20 – The public is welcome to attend the Seniors Only Seminar from 2 to 3 p.m. at Lighthouse of Waconia (500 S Cherry St.). Topic: History of Christmas Cookies. Free.

Wrestling food drive
THURSDAY, DEC. 20 – The Waconia Wrestling Holiday Food Drive will be held at Waconia High School. Bring non-perishable food donations and stay to watch the Wildcats host a double dual conference match (Orono, Delano, Mound-Westonka) starting at 6 p.m. Donations also accepted on Saturday, Dec. 22 during the Waconia Youth Wrestling Tournament. Collection boxes will be located in the WHS entrance area.
Pat Foley open house
FRIDAY, DEC. 21 – The public is invited to an open house for Pat Foley honoring him for his 25 years as head football coach in District 110. He has decided to retire from that position, but will continue teaching at the high school. His family is hosting a reception from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the WHS Commons. This invitation is extended to past students who played for Pat, alumni cheerleaders, or anyone who was/is a Chief or Wildcat football fan!
Rock on Ice event
FRIDAY, DEC. 21 – Enjoy a variety of music and the Rock on Ice lights and fog machine at the Waconia Ice Arena (1250 Oak Avenue) from 7 to 9 p.m. Adults: $3.50, students/seniors: $2.50. MONDAY, DEC. 31 – At “Snowflakes– Where and How Are They Possible?” school age children will track the cycle of the snowflake and get to the bottom of this mystery; then create beautiful artwork inspired by these formations. Pet adoption day
