RMC exploring potential affiliation with Sibley Medical Center
With a shared vision to improve access and grow services in a rapidly changing health care environment, Waconia-based Ridgeview Medical Center has agreed to begin discussions with Sibley Medical Center regarding a potential affiliation between the two community hospital systems.
Sibley Medical Center, located in Arlington, Minn., has held a management contract with Ridgeview Medical Center since 2007 and recently approached Ridgeview with a request to explore a more integrated relationship. Preliminary discussions regarding a potential affiliation will occur during the next 90 to 120 days. There are several affiliation concepts that will be considered; no agreements have yet been reached and no decisions have been made regarding the nature or terms of any affiliation model.
“Ridgeview Medical Center welcomes the opportunity to enhance the current relationship we have with Sibley. As a health care system that borders Sibley Medical Center’s geographic footprint, we know the community and market area well. And, we’ve been pleased to have served as a resource for Sibley for the past five years,” said Robert Stevens, president and CEO, Ridgeview Medical Center.
“Ridgeview and Sibley Medical Center have similar missions to serve our communities and our patients with high-quality, cost-effective care, and to be a strong source of local economic development through job creation,” Stevens added. “ I am truly excited about these discussions and the strength that a potential affiliation could bring to both organizations and our patients.”
