Mental health situation resolved peacefully

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call for assistance on the 200 block of Main Street E in Norwood Young America at 8:37 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 24  after the Sheriff’s Office was informed that an adult male was intending to harm himself with a gun.

According to a press release from Carver County Sheriff  Jim Olson, deputies made multiple attempts to contact the individual by phone, with no success.

Eventually, however, deputies were able to make contact with the adult male, and they placed him on a 72-hour transports hold without further incident.
