Fire destroys home in Lakeview Terrace

A house fire occurred at 415 Lakeview Terrace Blvd. in Waconia in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Jan. 9. No injuries were reported in the fire, which left the house a total loss.

According to Waconia Fire Chief Mark Morse, the Waconia Fire Department received the call at 3:36 a.m. Arriving in the fire department’s command vehicle, Morse joined deputies from the Carver County Sheriff’s Office, who reported heavy smoke coming from the house.

Twenty-nine firefighters responded to the call. Morse said the house was unoccupied and fully involved in fire on the lower and main levels upon arrival. The Waconia units cleared the scene at 6 a.m. Morse said the home is a total loss and that the cause of the fire is yet to be determined.

Morse said the Mayer Fire Department was requested for personnel on the way to the scene, followed by Cologne Fire for personnel and Victoria Fire to standby by at the Waconia station with an engine and crew in case the department had another emergency.

The fire is currently being investigated by the State Fire Marshall’s Office, Carver County Sheriff’s Office, and Waconia Fire Department.
