BOARD OF EDUCATION
December 17, 2012
I. The regular meeting of the Watertown-Mayer School Board in the Watertown City Hall on Monday, December 17, 2012 was called to order at 5:08 PM by Chair McCain. Board members present: Janikula, Thompson, Burns, Salonek, McCain and Koehler. Absent: Hoover. Administration team members present: Superintendent Marlette, Hennen, Guertin, Pauly, Hittle, Fitzsimonds and Piersak. Absent: None.
II. Visitor requests and consideration of agenda. MMS (Motion made and Seconded by) Janikula and Burns to approve the agenda as amended. Passes 6-0
III. General Business Items
MMS Koehler and Salonek to approve the following consent agenda items: Minutes of the Regular Board Meeting of November 12, 2012 and Special Board Minutes of December 10, 2012; Personnel consent agenda; business consent agenda – operations update. Passes 6-0.
IV. Recognitions/Presentations: Daniel Mosford presented Mr. Piersak with a gift he built. The board recognized Hannah Johnson and Liz Miller for advancing to State in Cross Country.
V. Reports by Guests, Administration and Board
Craig W. Popenhagen of CliftonLarsonAllen presented the board with the district’s audit report for the 2011-12 school year.
Michael Piersak presented the board with information regarding Special Education.
Dan Sieling and Dustin Stutsman presented the board with a staffing report for the district technology department.
Mr. Marlette presented the board with information regarding the water rates increase, January board meeting and parent security meeting on January 3, 2013 at 5:00 PM in the Watertown City Hall.

Salonek left the meeting.
VII. New Business
B. MMS Burns and Thompson to approve the Watertown-Mayer School District #111 Financial Audit for 2011-2012 school year as presented by CliftonLarsonAllen LLP, CPA, Consultants & Advisors: Mr. Craig W. Popenhagen, Auditor. Passes 5-0.
C. District Finance Manager, Lisa Raiter presented the board with information on the district finance regarding Truth-in-Taxation:

D. MMS Janikula and Thompson to approve the 2013-2014 Watertown-Mayer ISD No. 111 Master Calendar as presented and attached. Passes 5-0.
E. MMS Thompson and Koehler to approve the Watertown-Mayer ISD No. 111 MDE Levy Limitations and Certification 2012 Payable 2013 at maximum limits, as presented in September. Passes 5-0.
VIII. Discussion of issues or open comments by School Board Directors.
Reminder for the board the 2013 MSBA Leadership Conference in January 17 & 18, 2013 at the Minneapolis Convention Center. Jennifer Janikula and Chad Koehler will be our representatives for the iPad presentation on January 17th.
Reminder of upcoming School Board Meetings: Regular School Board January 3, 2013 5:00 PM Watertown City Hall Followed by a parent meeting regarding school security.
IX. MMS Janikula and Burns to adjourn the meeting at 7:15 PM and was duly passed.
