Shepherd of the Hill welcomes African artist
The public is invited to a free Wine and Cheese Reception to celebrate the Exhibit Opening of African artist Koffi Mbairamadji, originally from Chad, from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 11 at Shepherd of the Hill Presbyterian Church (145 Engler Blvd.) in Chaska, one block west of the Chaska Community Center.
“Koffi Mbairamadji’s art is intricately colorful and expressive,”says John Lince-Hopkins of Rock Pool Studio. “A vibrant love of the earth and of life in all of its guises underlies his work in a uniquely African style that blends abstraction and realism into a unified whole.”
The artist’s visit and exhibit are offered the general public in advance of the celebration of the Martin Luther King Day Celebration at Shepherd of the Hill, Monday, Jan. 21. The exhibit will remain on display through the end of February.
Co-sponsors include Lynxnorth Studio and Rock Pool Studio; District 112 Community Education and Alternative Schools; and Dolce Vita Wine Shop.
