Free Hot dinner at St. Paul’s

JAM! Jesus and Me!

Wednesdays – Program designed to help kids think bigger, better and grander thoughts of our awesome God!  Meets every Wednesday at Peace Lutheran Church in Watertown from 3-6 p.m.  A time for all kids in grades 1-5 to grow in their own personal relationship with Jesus Christ and learn how to build Christian relationships with others.  We will be studying God’s Word, teaching how to apply it to their lives, having fun with arts/crafts, music, skits, games and fellowship!  Also homework time and light supper served.  Suggested donation of $25 for the year.  Please sign up with Kathy Maas at or 952-955-2936.


Understanding your child’s IEP

Sat., Jan. 19, noon – Exciting opportunity to finally Understand your Child’s IEP!  Saturday, Jan. 19, at 12 p.m. at DVincis in Watertown, small fee but can be waived if needed, parents understanding their Child’s IEP is priority above the fee, parents will learn exactly what their child is entitled to and how to get it. Pet adoption

Sat., Jan. 19, noon – 3 p.m. – Carver Scott Humane Society volunteers will hold a pet adoption at PETCO, in Eden Prairie. CSHS is without its own building and all pets are housed in foster care. Kittens, and cats ages 4 months to 10 years-old will be available. Dogs four months to 10 years will be there. All cats and dogs have been micro ID implanted, vet checked, wormed, had shots updated, checked for friendly temperaments, and age appropriately spayed/neutered. French toast breakfast

Sun, Jan. 20, 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. – Join us for a pancake and french toast breakfast at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia (601 2nd St. E). Sausage, applesauce and beverage also included. Co sponsored by Trinity Lutheran and Waconia Knights of Columbus #2506. Proceeds go to Birthright, a pregnancy support service.


Pancake Breakfast

Sun., Jan. 20, 9 a.m.-noon – Delano Council 4653 Knights of Columbus and the St. Mary of Czestochowa’s Men’s Club will be having a pancake, sausage and french toast breakfast at St. Mary of Czestochowa, (1867 95th St. Off Cty Rd. 13, Rural Delano). The proceeds will go to the Delano and Watertown Food Shelves. The cost is a free will offering.


PLC Open House

Sun., Jan. 20, 2-4 p.m. – Peace Lutheran Church of Watertown, (an LCMC congregation), has been meeting at the Watertown Community Center since Aug., 2010.   Construction of their new church building is now complete, and the first worship service was held on Dec. 23, 2012.  An “Open House for the Community” will be held on Sunday, Jan. 20, from 2-4 p.m..  The church is located on Co. Rd. 20, just east of the new Watertown-Mayer Elementary School, at 600 Kristi Lane.  All are invited to attend.



Waconia 2013 Ride-In

Jan. 25-27 – The Waconia 2013 Ride-In will be held at Lake Waconia Regional Park. Includes Ice Breaker Party (Friday night), trail ride, swap meet, auctions, MVSS drag racing, Oval Racers Alliance oval racing, loud snowmobile contest, Saturday night banquet, autograph session, and snowmobile show (Sunday). Snowball Open

Sat., Jan. 26, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. – Sponsored by the Orono Lions, the Snowball Open is a full 18 hole golf course built for one day on Long Lake (Hennepin County) in the middle of winter. Each hole is sponsored by a local businesses and the money brought in from the event helps the Lions support local charities and benefits the community! $25 to enter, payable at the event. Course will open at 9 a.m. with Tee Times available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.. To book a tee time please call 612-965-0153.  $100 prizes for best dressed team and best sled, and $50 prize for best “Up North Hat.”


Ice fishing contest

Sat., Feb. 2, 1-3 p.m. – An ice fishing contest and raffle will be held on Lake Whaletail in Minnetrista, sponsored by the Watertown Lions Club.  All proceeds go to Boy Scout Troop 209 to help send scouts to summer camp.  1st prize portable ice house.  Many door prizes will be awarded on the lake.  For more information call 952-297-6029.  Tickets $3 in advance and $4 on the lake.  Alternate date Feb. 16.


Pancake breakfast

Sun., Feb. 3 – The Watertown Lions Club will hold its annual pancake breakfast on Sunday, Feb. 3, serving from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the high school cafeteria.


Roast beef dinner

Feb. 17, 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. – The Mound Lodge #320 will host a Roast Beef Dinner at the Mound American Legion, 2333 Wilshire Blvd.  The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Children under 5 are free. Contact Steve Wagner at 612-616-6601 or for more info.
