Waconia city administrator is finalist for Eagan position
Waconia City Adminstrator Susan Arntz is one of four finalists for the city administrator position in the city of Eagan.
According to Tom Garrison, the Communications Director for the city of Eagan, Arntz was named as a finalist by the Eagan City Council, which is looking to replace current City Administrator Tom Hedges, who is retiring next month after 36 years of service to the city of Eagan.
In addition to Arntz, the other finalists are Matthew Fulton, a former City Manager for Coon Rapids, Minn., who is currently an organizational consultant in California; David Osberg, City Administrator of Hastings; and Robert Padmore, Assistant City Manager for Sioux City, Iowa. The finalists participated in an interview process conducted Jan. 17-18.
Garrison said 39 candidates applied for the position. The executive search firm Brimeyer Fursman is leading the search, which began last September.
Arntz has more than 17 years of full-time experience in local government and has served as the city administrator in Waconia since 2001.
