Osberg chosen as new Eagan administrator
The city of Eagan has concluded its search for a new city administrator to replace Tom Hedges, who is retiring in February. Susan Arntz, who has served as the city administrator of Waconia since 2001, was one of four finalists for the position. She and the other finalists participated in a vigorous interview process conducted Jan. 17-18.
On Wednesday, Jan. 23, the city of Eagan announced that its city council has reached a tentative agreement with Hastings City Administrator Dave Osberg regarding the position. Osberg will become only the second administrator in Eagan’s history. A contract is expected to be formally ratified by the Eagan City Council during its next meeting, which is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 5.
When asked for comment last week, Arntz said she has been proud to serve Waconia for the past 12 years and viewed the position in Eagan as “an opportunity for professional growth and an opportunity for me to be closer to my family and my husband’s work.”
“Eagan had four great candidates to select from who are great assets to their respective communities,” said Eagan Mayor Mike Maguire, who said Osberg emerged as the choice based on his “well-recognized track record and his genuine enthusiasm for taking our community to the next level.”
