2-7-13 youth sports highlights

The Waconia youth wrestling team traveled to Canby on Jan. 26 for an eight-team tournament. Competing against teams from Minneota, Quad County, Redwood Valley, BOLD, Marshall/Lakeview and Canby, the youth Wildcats were undefeated in the tournament and beat Watertown (South Dakota) for the championship.

The Waconia JO 14-1 girls’ volleyball team was undefeated the weekend of Jan. 25-27 in the Farmington 16’s tournament. The team includes, front row: Mariah Horning, Madison Schuler, Makenzie Merritt, and Marisa Alto; back row: coach Brian    Reighard, Molly Reighard, Ellie Hukriede, Sophie Flucas, Lynsey Olson, and coach Gedric Merritt.

The team includes Jacob Rankin, Jack Larson, Sean Gohman, Travis Kray, Will Nessa, Reed Pernat, Willie Youngstrand, Andrew Lindstrom, Connor Cozine, Will Schrup, Eric Bruellman, Ryan Christopherson, Nathan LaDouceur, Tyler Lanska, Gabe Totzke, Adam Laumann, Matt Gohman, Logan Riebel, Wyatt Edlund, and Matt Bauer. Coaches are Tom Nessa, Dave Montgomery, Scott Youngstrand, and Mike Kray.
