Zion Lutheran School of Mayer will be hosting a spaghetti dinner and silent auction on Sunday, Feb. 24. Serving time will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the school gym on Blue Jay Avenue. Dinner includes spaghetti, meat or no-meat sauce, breadsticks and salad. The dinner is a free will donation. The profits from this event will go to the seventh and eighth grades to take an educational trip to Washington D.C.
A silent auction will also be held at this time. If you would like to donate something for the silent auction, please let Jason Wisch know or you may bring your items to the school.
The students are currently in the MLAA basketball tournament at Lutheran High School. The tournament will conclude this weekend. Come out and cheer on the players.
Senior pot luck
Fourteen senior citizens enjoyed a delicious pot luck dinner on Monday at the Mayer Community Center. Bunco was played for a few hours after the meal. We wish to thank our leader and the Senior Commission for putting this monthly get together available for us. We hope to see many new faces at the next gathering which will be on March. 4. Meal time is 11:30 a.m. With departure time around 1 p.m.
Dates of importance
Valentines Day is Feb. 14. Do remember your special someone on this day.
There will be garbage and recycle pickup on Friday, Feb. 15. Have bins at curbside by 7 a.m.
Monday, Feb. 18, the city offices will be closed in honor of Presidents Day.
Members of the Mayer Fire Department will have a business meeting starting at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 18.
Registration for the upcoming Minnesota Firearms Safety Hunter Education program will take place at the Mayer Community Center on Thursday, Feb. 21, at 7 p.m. If you have any questions, please call Beth Schrupp at 952-442-4443 (days).
