Obituary – Kenneth Pawelk
He was born on Dec. 21, 1935, in Woodland Township, Wright County, the son of Fred and Elsie Mielke Pawelk.
Kenneth graduated from Watertown High School in 1953.
He honorably served his Country in The National Guard.
On May 4, 1957, Kenneth W. Pawelk and Germaine H. O’Connell were joined in holy marriage at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly. God blessed their marriage with four children: Richard “Rick”, Terry, Tamara “Tammy” and Barry.
Kenneth engaged in dairy farming for many years. He worked hard side by side with his wife Germaine. He took great pride in farming and spent his entire life on the family homestead. He enjoyed his cattle, raising corn, driving the combine and watching Westerns.
He loved his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren! Ken was a great cook too!
He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly, but lately The Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown.
Kenneth served thirty-four years as a Supervisor of Woodland Township and was Chairman of The Woodland Township Board for Twenty-nine years. He also served as The State Fire Warden.
Survived by his loving children: Richard “Rick” (Terri) Pawelk of Watertown, Terry (Diane) Pawelk of Ramsey, Tamara “Tammy” (Steve) Kassulker of New Germany and Barry (Lori) Pawelk of Montrose; ten grandchildren: Reed (Katie) Pawelk, Paige (Matt) Lynch, Abby Pawelk, Samantha Pawelk, Dustin Pawelk, Kenneth “Kenny” Pawelk, Ryan Kassulker, Hailey Kassulker, Danny Pawelk and Casey Pawelk; three great grandchildren: Owen Pawelk, Walter Lynch and Lilly Dahl; brothers: Orville (Bonnie) Pawelk of New Germany, Eldon (Barbara) Pawelk of Montrose and Eldor (Joan) Pawelk of Maple Lake; a sister: Pricilla (Wayne) Sievert of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; a sister-in-law: Adeline Pawelk of Hutchinson; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including his favorite dog “Chuckie”.
Preceded in death by his parents: Fred & Elsie Pawelk, his wife: Germaine H. Pawelk on November 11, 2012, a sister: Friedolla Pawelk and by three brothers: Willard (Bernice) Pawelk, Glennard Pawelk and DeLloyd (Elaine) Pawelk.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Kenneth Pawelk will be held on Thursday, Feb. 14, at 10 a.m.. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown. Father Joseph Fink will be the Celebrant.
Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery in Waverly.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 13, from 4-8 p.m.. at The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted. Further visitation will be held on Thursday morning, Feb. 14, one hour prior to Mass at the church.
Casket Bearers will be Gene Janikula, Dan Pawelk, Dustin Pawelk, Kenny Pawelk, Ryan Kassulker, Casey Bruggemeier and Shane Bruggemeier.
