Two more FFA teams qualify for state

On Jan. 25 several NYA FFA took part in a day of regional contests in Montgomery.
The day was a success, as two more teams qualified to compete at the Minnesota State FFA Convention in April.

The chapter’s first Forestry team in years took first place in their event and the Fish and Wildlife team finished fifth.

The Forestry team featured some of the top individuals in the day’s contest as well. Brandon Fabel placed first with Chase Schrupp, Matt Ditsch, and Blake Teubert taking fourth, fifth and sixth respectively.

The youthful Small Animal Care team of first-timers gained valuable experience, coming in just outside of the top 10 teams on the day.

A junior high team of Andrew Artmann and Luke Peterson for Fish and Wildlife finished third in their division, with Andrew taking 3rd individually.

So far, four teams and two individuals have qualified to compete at state, with several more events on the calendar for the rest of the school year.
