The Waconia Basketball Association’s fifth grade boys’ “Gold” basketball team won the MSF state tournament last weekend in Hastings. The boys defeated Mahtomedi, Mounds View, St. Joe’s, Brooklyn Park, and Woodbury for the title. The team includes, front row: Max Kappel, Jack Doty, Kaden Reich, and Ben Hissam; second row: Payton McGraw, Mitch Eveslage, Sam Deadrick, Eric Groeneveld, Logan Gieseke, and Max Kalenberg; third row: assistant coach Jenny Hissam, assistant coach Jeff Eveslage, and head coach Brad Doty.

The Trinity seventh and eighth grade boys’ basketball team won the state tournament last weekend. The team advances to the Lutheran Basketball Association National Tournament on March 21-24 in Valparaiso, Indiana. The team includes, front row: Josh Marlatt, Noah Peterson, Tyler Wilaby, Nic Woelker, and Zac Holmgren; second row: Daniel Smith, Nevin Waldron, Braedy Roepke, Jack Seltz, and Graham Friske; third row; Mitchell Johnson, Brandon Jilek, Antonio Paine, Kyle Meinke, Derek Feltmann, and Garrett Tjernagel; back row: coachs Ron Anenson, Kevin Wilaby, and Gregg Johnson.
