Master Gardeners present ‘Garden Fever’ on April 6

It’s time to think spring … and the Carver-Scott Master Gardeners are again presenting Garden Fever!

Join them for a day filled with education and fun at the Oak Ridge Conference Center in Chaska from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 6. This year, the featured speaker is award-winning landscape designer and author Julie Moir Messervy, who designed the Toronto Waterfront Music Garden.

Her presentation will demystify the art and practice of landscape design for homeowners and professionals alike. Using beautiful images, together with helpful tips, case studies, befores and afters, diagrams, and plans, she walks you through the process of turning any property into the “home outside” that you’ve always dreamed of.

She highlights many of the ideas introduced in her book, “Home Outside: Creating the Landscape You Love,” illustrating that good landscape design does not have to be overwhelming or expensive. A book signing will follow the lecture.

Garden Fever also includes workshops on Fairy Gardens, Native Plants, Espalier, Train Gardens, Ornamental Grasses, Underplanted Vegetables, Design your own Water Garden, Trees and Shrubs, and Container Design.

Registration includes a continental breakfast, lunch, door prizes, silent auction, commercial vendors, educational exhibits, and book signing. The cost is $49 through March 15 and $59 thereafter. Registration ends March 23. Books are available for pre-purchase with registration for $30. Register online at www.carverscottmastergardeners.org or contact the Extension Office at (952) 466-5300 for a brochure.
