Elsa R. Dietel, age 82, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, recently of Jordan, and formerly of Maple Grove and Brooklyn Center, died peacefully Saturday, March 9, 2013.
A memorial service will be held Friday, March 15 at 11 a.m., at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 4201 Regent Ave. N, in Robbinsdale. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the church. A light luncheon follows. Memorials preferred.
Elsa was born on July 11, 1930 in Stewart, Minn., the daughter of Minnie (nee Kiecker) and William Grunke. Elsa was a 1948 graduate of Hutchinson High School. She and husband Lenn were united in marriage on Oct. 19, 1950 at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. She was a full-time homemaker and worked part-time in sales and design for A.C. Carlson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lenn in 2008; and an infant brother.
Elsa is survived by daughter, Wendy (husband, Bob Friendshuh); son, Reed (wife, Gloria); daughter, Jody; and son, Eric (wife, Leslie). She is also survived by grandson, Robbie; granddaughters, Heather Spinler, Beth (Sean Heusinkveld), Tara LaHaye; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sister-in-law, Lorraine Maschke; and nieces, nephews and many precious friends.
