Networking group

TUESDAYS – Lakeside Networkers is a local BNI business networking group that meets weekly on Tuesdays at 7 a.m. at Island View Golf Club in Waconia (note location change) to share referrals and grow businesses. All are welcome to attend the meetings.

Library bookstore

A new bookstore is now open in the northeast corner of the Waconia Library. Most hardcover books are $1 and paperbacks are $.50. If you love vintage or collectible books, there is a special cabinet just for you. Run by the Friends of the Library. All proceeds benefit the library.    Open during regular library hours. Softener Salt Sale
The Waconia wrestling and baseball teams have kicked off their annual spring water softener salt sale. District 110 residents can order salt and have it delivered to their homes on Saturday, April 27. Three types of softener salt are available, including coarse, pellet and iron. Ice Out 2013

FRIDAY, MARCH 22 – The Waconia Hockey Association hosts Ice Out 2013: Vegas Returns at the Waconia Ice Arena from 6 p.m. to midnight. Features casino-style gambling tables with great prize raffles, wine and beer tastings, a silent and live auction, and music. Early Childhood screen.

FRIDAY, MARCH 22 – Early Childhood Screening is a free service offered by District 110 staff that will check a child’s overall development and health. Recommended screening age is between the ages of 3 1/2 and 4 years. Screening will take place from 8:15 .m. to 2:45 p.m. at the Early Childhood Family Center, 520 Industrial Blvd. Info: 442-0613.

FRIDAY, MARCH 22 – The Waconia Knights of Columbus Fish Fry will be held from 4 to 7:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Parish Center in Waconia. Adults: $10, children ages 5-12: $4, children under 5 eat free. Take out available.

Remembrance Service

SATURDAY, MARCH 23 – A Service of Remembrance will be held at 7 p.m. at Waconia Moravian Church. This community worship service will be a time to remember your loved one who has been lost to suicide. Bayview spaghetti dinner

FRIDAY, APRIL 12 – Bayview Elementary School will hold its annual Spaghetti Dinner & Silent Auction from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. This is one of the largest fundraisers of the year for Bayview.

MOPS fundraiser

APRIL 12-13 – Trinity MOPS (Mothers of  Preschoolers), a non-denominational group for moms with preschoolers, is holding a fundraiser at Trinity Lutheran Church and School in Waconia from 3 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 12 and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 13. During this “Antiquities Fundraiser,” one donates a $10 sitting fee (100 percent benefits Trinity MOPS) and receives a free 10×13 antique color  portrait (for portrait examples, visit antiquitieskids.com). Trinity workshop

SATURDAY, APRIL 20 – Do you want to study the Bible more effectively? Would you like to be able to memorize Scripture? Attend the Falling in Love with God’s Word workshop held at Trinity Lutheran Church & School in Waconia.
