Henry D. Schwalbe, 81, of Waconia, died Sunday, March 10, 2013 at his home, surrounded by his wife and daughters.
Henry was born May 16, 1931, to Henry and Lydia (Morschen) Schwalbe in Minneapolis. He was raised on a farm near Chaska.
Henry enjoyed talking to anyone and everyone, friends and neighbors. In his free time, he loved traveling with his wife in their motorhome, fishing, taking care of his lawn and home, woodworking, and he had a beautiful garden. He volunteered for funerals at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waconia; he had a big heart. Henry was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was very proud of all his children.
Henry was extremely proud of his 31 years of working at the “Super Valu Warehouse.”
Henry is preceded in death by his father Henry T. Schwalbe and mother Lydia (Morschen) Schwalbe.
Henry is survived by his wife, Lillian (Kaley) Schwalbe of Waconia; daughters, Jeanne Schwalbe, Karen (Tom) Maiser, Sandy Hastings, and Debbie (Gerry) McMillan; grandchildren, Lincoln (Jamie) Maiser, Dr. Sam (Jennifer) Maiser, Natalie (Joe) Lutz, Adam (Amanda) Hastings, Lily Hastings, Dan McMillan, Sarah McMillan (Erik), Maggie McMillan (PJ); great-grandchildren, Hannah and Hailey Maiser and Maxwell and Jackson Hastings; sisters Elaine Roepke, Lorraine Klatt, Melva (Fred) Roepke, and Arlene (Richard) Forner; nieces and nephews.
The Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, March 14, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Father Bennet Tran officiated. Visitations were two hours prior to the mass, at the church on Thursday. Interment at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
