Chamber Notes, by Kellie Sites
Why does the Waconia Chamber host a Business Home and Family EXPO anyway … why not just use the internet to find a business or service you need?
Because we think you should meet the business in person! There will be over 70 businesses represented at the EXPO, but that’s just the beginning. We have some amazing guests with us this year: Jim Gilbert, author of Minnesota’s Outdoor Wonders; Scott Olson, creator of Rollerblades, will be there with his RowBike and will talk about the fitness benefits — you can even sign up for test ride! You can learn how to make soap and take home a sample; see if Dojo Karate is just the ticket for you and your family, watch the Rising Star Dance Academy perform, or learn how to fix a flat tire on your bicycle with Justin Ratzlaff from SPOKES!
New this year, Melchert Hubert Sjodin PLLP will be providing Legal Advice all day long in the Media Center.
I’m excited to have Wally Shaver, voice of Golden Gopher Hockey Radio in the house to help with the booth to booth commentary and he’s bringing some Gopher swag to give away. Talk about cool prizes! Who doesn’t need a ManCave Starter kit?! Test out the ultimate recliner from Yetzer’s Home Furnishings and Floor Coverings that could be yours!
If you’re a kid — you are going to want to win the awesome bicycle from SPOKES. There will be raffle prizes at many booths and lots of other great giveaways.
Come hungry because there will be kettle korn, pork burgers, ice cream, brats, hot dogs, funnel cakes, berry kabobs and meat eaters – just like at a Vikings Game. You can also buy tickets for the April 7 Waconia Fireman’s Pancake Breakfast at the EXPO! Look for Sparky at the Waconia Fire Department booth. Don’t forget to try some chocolate at the Laketown Chocolate Booth … right beside the RowBike booth.
Did you know that Scott Olson has also created a SkyRide? Learn more about this excellent work out/fun ride at his booth and you can sign up to learn how to ride at the SkyTrack … right here in Waconia.
This town is full of fun and talent, which you can find at the EXPO!
K & K Fun Time will be there for free jumping on their inflatables and I know you’ll want to try a little salsa dancing with Guisela at her Dance/Fitness/Wellness table. There are 12 table vendors in the cafeteria and hallway area where you’ll also find most of the food, so make sure you do the whole show.
With plenty to do on Saturday, April 6, I know you have a lot of choices.
You have from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. to check out the EXPO and enter to win prizes, but we only do this every other year, so I hope you’ll make the Waconia Chamber Business Home and Family EXPO a TOP priority for Saturday, April 6. Look for the map listing all the vendors in next week’s Waconia Patriot.
See you at the EXPO!
