Mayer FD Fish Fry

Members of the Mayer Fire Department are sponsoring their annual Spring Fish Fry on Sunday, April 7 at the Mayer Community Center. Serving time will be from 10:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Ladies of Zion LWML will be selling pie as dessert. Stop at their pie stand to fill your sweet tooth after enjoying the fish dinner. Proceeds from the pie sale will be used to supply Devotional Materials for the Zion church family.


Zion News

Zion Lutheran School will be having Vacation Bible School June 10-14. “Tell It On the Mountain: Where Jesus Christ is Lord” is the theme for this year’s session. Registrations can be made starting April 6. For more information, contact the school office or go online and register at the Zion website.

Craft Day will be held on April 27 from 9 a.m. To 9 p.m. Come for a couple of hours or stay the whole day. For $10, you’ll secure a spot and be provided lunch and dinner. Bring your own drink. RSVP with Karla Borgendale at (612) 231-8670.


Train for the Trail

This program will be held April 4 through May 23 and is designed to help you build strength and endurance for the great outdoors! You will have the chance to track your minutes of daily physical activity and strength training each week. Try new exercises and cross training ideas to prepare you to cover more outdoor ground, negotiate a variety of terrain and carry equipment or gear with ease. Compost site open

With spring now here (or is it?) the Mayer compost site will open Saturday, April 13 with an attendant on duty from 9 a.m. To noon and on Wednesday evenings from 5 to 8 p.m. Bring your yard waste at these times. The compost site is located on County Road 30 just west of Highway 25.


Upcoming events

The Mayer City Council will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, April 8.
