Men’s softball league
Waconia Parks & Recreation’s Men’s Slow Pitch Softball Doubleheader league registration is now open through Thursday, April 11 or until the league is full, whichever comes first. All teams will be sanctioned through the American Softball Association (ASA). Games played on Wednesday evenings between 7-10 p.m. Softball season runs May 8-July 31, barring no rainouts. APRIL 4 & 5 – Waconia High School will present the farce “Happy Birthday, Dear Grandpa” at the high school auditorium at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 4 and Friday, April 5. Tickets available at the door. Passes accepted.
Early Childhood screen.
APRIL 4 & 5 – Early Childhood Screening is a free service offered by District 110 staff that will check a child’s overall development and health. Recommended screening age is between the ages of 3 1/2 and 4 years. Screening will take place from 2:30 to 5 p.m. on April 4 and 8:15 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. on Paril 5 at the Early Childhood Family Center, 520 Industrial Blvd. Info: 442-0613.

TUESDAY, APRIL 9 – The Eastern Carver County League of Women Voters will present a panel of speakers on The Arts in Public Life at 6:30 p.m. in the Chanhassen Libraries’ Thornton Wilder Room. This area is rich with arts organizations and opportunities. This last meeting of the ECCLWV year should be of interest to the public and the arts community. All are invited.

Bayview spaghetti dinner
THURSDAY, APRIL 11 – Bayview Elementary School will hold its annual Spaghetti Dinner & Silent Auction from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. This is one of the largest fundraisers of the year for Bayview.
APRIL 12-13 – Trinity MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers), a non-denominational group for moms with preschoolers, is holding a fundraiser at Trinity Lutheran Church and School in Waconia from 3 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 12 and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 13. During this “Antiquities Fundraiser,” one donates a sitting fee (100 percent benefits Trinity MOPS) and receives a free 10×13 antique color portrait (examples: antiquitieskids.com).
