Barn calendar benefits local charities

The 2013 Barns of Carver County calendar project spearheaded by Ruth Tremblay raised $2,000 to benefit Carver County food shelves and Mary’s Wish this year.Checks were distributed to those organizations at the KleinBank in Waconia on Friday, March 29. Over the last three years, these merchants have helped raise $7,500 for Carver County charities, including Mary’s Wish, Bountiful Basket Food Shelf in Chaska, Waconia United Food Shelf, Southwesst Carver County Food Shelf in NYA, and the Friends for Life Food Shelf in Watertown. The merchants that have participated in the calendar sales over the last three years are: KleinBank locations in Carver County and St. Boni, Mackenthun’s County Market, Watertown Phamacy, Frost & Steam, Who’s on First?, Premier Custom Apparel, Millhouse Gallery, At the Farm Organic Farmer’s Market, Diva Dog, and the Carver County Historical Society.
