Carver County Commissioner Randy Maluchnik recently awarded the Association of Minnesota Counties (AMC) Scholarship to Matt Ditsch, a senior at Central High School in Norwood Young America.
Maluchnik, as past president of AMC, presented Ditsch with a $1,500 award during the AMC Legislative Conference Banquet on Wednesday, March 20.
“I was really impressed with Matt Ditsch’s activities and accomplishments. He has a promising future ahead and his career aspirations will serve rural Minnesota well,” said Commissioner Maluchnik.
Ditsch plans on attending the University of Minnesota, College of Food Agriculture and Natural Resource Science to major in Agriculture Industries and Marketing. He is active in 4H, Future Farmers of America and many other academic and community activities.
AMC raised money for the scholarship at the 2012 AMC Annual Conference Resource Fair. Exhibitors donated items for a silent action that ranged from wildlife art to office furniture. Conference attendees then bid on each of the items. Each year, the Past President of AMC selects a high school senior to receive the scholarship.
