Softener Salt Sale
The Waconia wrestling and baseball teams have kicked off their annual spring water softener salt sale. District 110 residents can order salt and have it delivered to their homes on Saturday, April 27. Three types of softener salt are available, including coarse, pellet and iron. Rec Soccer Registration

Men’s softball league

Waconia Parks & Recreation’s Men’s Slow Pitch Softball Doubleheader league registration is now open through Thursday, April 11 or until the league is full, whichever comes first. All teams will be sanctioned through the American Softball Association (ASA). Games played on Wednesday evenings between 7-10 p.m. Softball season runs May 8-July 31, barring no rainouts. Bayview spaghetti dinner

THURSDAY, APRIL 11 – Bayview Elementary School will hold its annual Spaghetti Dinner & Silent Auction from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. This is one of the largest fundraisers of the year for Bayview.

MOPS fundraiser

APRIL 12-13 – Trinity MOPS (Mothers of  Preschoolers), a non-denominational group for moms with preschoolers, is holding a fundraiser at Trinity Lutheran Church and School in Waconia from 3 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 12 and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 13. During this “Antiquities Fundraiser,” one donates a sitting fee (100 percent benefits Trinity MOPS) and receives a free 10×13 antique color portrait (examples: antiquitieskids.com). LHS play

APRIL 12-14 – The Mayer Lutheran High School drama department will perform Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night or What You Will” at LHS at 7 p.m. on April 12 and 13 and at 2 p.m. on April 14. Tickets available at the door.

Show Choir Spectacular

APRIL 12-13 & 19-20 – The Power Company Family of Show Choirs presents the 2013 Show Choir Spectacular on April 12-13 and 19-20 at Waconia High School. Show times are Fridays at 7 p.m. and Saturdays at 2 and 7 p.m. Power Company, The Current, and solo/group acts perform at all shows. Pulse, Illuminations, Shockwave at selected shows. Dairy Day Dinner

SATURDAY, APRIL 13 – Thousands of books, including vintage and collectibles, will be on sale during the Spring Book Sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Waconia Library. Gymnastics Invite

SATURDAY, APRIL 13 – Laketown Gymnastics will host the inaugural Lake Waconia Gymnastics Invitational. Doors open at 6:45 a.m. Session 1 (silver): 8:25 a.m.; Session 2 (gold): 12:55 p.m.; Session 3 (bronze and platinum): 5:10 p.m. 200+ gymnasts; teams from MN, ND and WI. Silent auction, raffle. Steak fry dinner

SATURDAY, APRIL 13 – A steak fry dinner will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. at American Legion Post 150 (233 Olive Street, Waconia). Includes baked potato, cole slaw, bread, beverage.

Caregiver Support Group

MONDAY, APRIL 15 – Encore’s Carver County Adult Day Services Program and Emerald Crest Assisted Living Memory Care have partnered up to provide a Caregiver Support Group to address the issues of caring for the aging. Group meets from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Encore Adult Day Program located across from the museum in Waconia. Info: 442-7660.

TUESDAY, APRIL 16 – The Carver County Licensed Family Child Care Provider Association (CCLCCA) will hold its monthly training at the Early Childhood Center (10600 Village Road, Chaska) from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Shelley Butler will present “I’m Good at What I Do.” Earn two hours of training. Rotary Rose, Spring Sale

THURSDAY, APRIL 18 – Waconia-West Carver Rotary is sponsoring its Rose and Spring Bouquet Sale. Early Childhood screen.

FRIDAY, APRIL 19 – Early Childhood Screening is a free service offered by District 110 staff that will check a child’s overall development and health. Recommended screening age is between the ages of 3 1/2 and 4 years. Screening will take place from 8:15 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. at the Early Childhood Family Center, 520 Industrial Blvd. Info: 442-0613.

Rock On Ice
