Cologne Lions plan reading program

The Cologne Lions will be implementing a new Literacy program this April called Roaring to Read!
The Lions will kick off the program at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday April 11 at the Cologne Community Center with the Wonder Weavers Story Tellers and a book exchange/ book drive. Children can attend in their jammies for great storiwes and a little snack. Bring some books to leave or start your reading early and borrow some books too.
The purpose of Roaring to Read is to easily get books in the hands of children and adults so that they can start reading together and see the importance of books in a home.
For the program, each business that chooses to participate will get a bucket of books to place at their site. Children and adults will be able to borrow these books at their convenience. When they are done with the book they can return it to any Roaring to Read site and then they will receive a ticket from one of the business employees that will enter them in a drawing for prizes. They will then fill out the ticket and leave it at that site. At the end of each month the Lions will collect the tickets for a drawing.
The Lions thank the following business for participating in the program: KleinBanks, Security Bank, Holiday, Hairs 2 You, DaBoars, Inn Town Liquors, Cologne Post Office,Cologne Community Center, Inn Town 2, Hendel’s Little Library & Kurious Kids Preschool.
