Holocaust speakers to appear at CHS

Central Public Schools is proud to present the 2013 Holocaust Lecture Series. During fourth quarter of this school year, seniors at Central High School will be able to hear from two Holocaust survivors. These presentations are open to the public. Both events will be held in the auditorium at Central High School.
The first speaker is Inge Auerbacher, a child survivor of Terezin Concentration Camp and author of the books “I am a Star” and “Children of Terror.” She currently lives in New York City. Auerbacher will speak from 12:30 to 2 p.m. on Friday, April 12.
The second speaker is Dr. Robert O. Fisch, a survivor of the Mauthausen and Gunskirchen Concentration Camps and a recently retired University of MN pediatrician.
Fisch is a painter and artist who has authored the books “The Light from the Yellow Star,” “The Metamorphosis to Freedom” and “Dear Dr. Fisch – Children’s Letters to a Holocaust Survivor.” Fisch will speak from 12:30 to 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 9.
The speakers are sponsored by generous grants from Citizens State Bank of Norwood Young America, the State Bank of Hamburg, and the Klein Bank of Norwood Young America.
