The Watertown Library will be closing on May 1 to remodel the library. However, the library needs help in boxing its books and taking down its shelving in order to allow the contractors to begin work and so the books and shelving can be stored outside the library.
Volunteer shifts on May 1-2 run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., 1-5 p.m. and 5-9 p.m.. Those who come to volunteer will have staff supervising. Taking down the shelving and taking apart the modular pieces will require drills, so those who have drills are asked if they might bring them. Most of the shelving and modular pieces will be taken down in the evenings. Volunteers shifts on May 3 will run from 1-5 p.m. To sign up to volunteer, please contact the library at 952-955-2939.
While it is anticipated that the library will be cleared by that time, those who would wish to volunteer Friday evening or Saturday should contact Heidi Hoks, branch manager, at 952-856-4503. If you are unable to volunteer but would like to help with a monetary donation, the library has contribution cards and also has a heart campaign going.
The library will be closed the month of May for this remodeling. Be sure to pick up a brochure outlying other options for library service during the closure.
