Melvin N. Worm, age 86, of Waconia passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at the Good Samaritan Center in Waconia.
Mass of Christian Burial held on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waconia with Father Bennet Tran as celebrant of the Mass; visitation Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia and one hour prior to the Mass at church; interment St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.
Melvin was born on July 18, 1926 in Cologne, Minn., the son of Hubert and Loretta (Jacques). He was baptized and confirmed at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Cologne. On July 30, 1949 Melvin was united in marriage to Alice T. Pieper at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marystown.
Melvin loved working at his salvage yard helping out who needed a certain part. He was an established welder and fabricator, fixing about almost anything. Melvin enjoyed going out fishing once in a while.
Melvin was preceded in death by his parents.
Melvin is survived by his loving family wife Alice; children and spouses Tom Worm and Alice Skadsberg of Duluth, Nancy and John Engler of Shakopee, Ron “Mort” Worm and fiancée Joanne Heacock of Norwood Young America, Margaret Boll of Maple Plain, Carol and Chuck Lyons of Hibbing, Harry and Judy Worm of Chaska, Leon and Cindy Worm of Chaska, Paul Worm of Chaska, Barb and Dale Guenigsman of Lester Prairie; grandchildren Charlene and Mike Forcier, Tom and Tracy Worm, Debbie and Brad Schmitt, Stacey Engler, Dan and Joanie Engler, Kassy Worm and fiancé Jeff Skiba, Kally Worm and fiancé Nick Woolwhine, Jeremey and Jackie Boll, Julie and Damon Thompson, Jon Boll, Justin Boll, Nick Lyons, Sara Lyons, Katie Worm, Mike Worm and fiancée Keli Leivermann, Eddie Worm, Alyssa Guenigsman and fiancé Joe Borders, Abigail Guenigsman; 18 great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Louise and Oliver Busch of New Prague, Kathy and Tom Kes of Jordan, Dennis and Joan Pieper of Shakopee; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
