The Polzin’s were married and then moved into Carol’s Father, George Winkler. Once they could afford a home of their own, they moved to Norwood in 1964 and lived there until he moved to Peace Villa in September 2011.  Carol and Dennis were married 53 years.  Then, on Monday Jan. 24, 2011, at 73 years of age, Carol passed away at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

In August of 2012 Dennis was diagnosed with pancreatic and bladder cancer.  At that time Dennis decided to allow the disease to run its course.  He was given three to four months to live.  He then moved to Elim Rehab and Nursing Home in the middle March.  Dennis faced his cancer with periodic illnesses resulting from the effects of the cancer until Friday, April 26, when he was welcomed home by his Heavenly Father at 4:45 a.m.
