Christ Community Lutheran School of Watertown was awarded a STEM Mini-Grant from the Minnesota Independent School Forum (MISF).
STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. CCLS’s award of $6,649.90 is for a Grant proposal to initiate and provide materials and training for a grade 1-6 STEM Lego Robotics Program.
CCLS will receive the Grant at the 2013 Private and Independent Education Awards on May 9 at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul.
“CCLS is appreciative of MISF’s support and advocacy for private schools across the State of Minnesota,” CCLS Principal Jeff Boehlke said. “We are proud to be part of this wonderful organization. CCLS is thankful for the award and is excited to implement the program and begin training our staff so that our students will benefit. We believe that Lego Robotics will enhance our Science curriculum, help develop strategic thinking and develop important skills in our students. We hope that parents will recognize the tremendous value that STEM education has for children in the 21st Century.”
