St. John’s Lutheran School students Peyton Schaaf, Emma Dose and Amanda Brinkman take part in a longest throw contest during PlayDay last Wednesday at St. John’s Lutheran School in NYA. The annual athletic competition features participants from St. John’s, Emanuel Lutheran School in Hamburg and Zion Lutheran School in Cologne.While rain kept activities inside for the most part, St. John’s Athletic Director Dan Kimble said the event went well. “It’s a good day,” he said, “very competitive in a good way... people were really into it.” Dating back to the 1940s, Kimble said the event was started by a prinicipal of Emanuel in Hamburg at the time.
