TOPS meetings

Senior Club

Tuesdays, 1 p.m. – The Watertown Senior Club meets every Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Watertown City Hall. All 55+ welcome. Info: (952) 955-2697.


Support Group

2nd Tuesday, 6:30 p.m.. – Suicide Bereavement Support Group meets the second Tuesday of each month at the Waconia Moravian Church. 209 E 2nd street. Next Meeting May 14th, 6:30pm open to anyone who has lost a loved one to suicide.


Free Hot dinner at St. Paul’s

1st Thursday, 5:30-6:30 p.m.  – Please join St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (505 Westminster Avenue. SW in Watertown) once a month for a wonderful full course hot dinner. All are invited every first Thursday of the month. Info: 955-1498.


Watertown Farmer’s Market

Thursdays this summer, 3:30-6:30 p.m.  – Plans are under way for the 2013 Watertown Farmer’s market. We are currently looking for vendors. We will host the market in the parking lot by the City offices.  Vendor fee is $25 for the season and is $15 for the season for vendors 18 and younger. Tri-County Toastmasters

St. Boniface Sale

June 13-15  – St. Boniface Catholic United Financial and Matching Grant Programs are sponsoring their 14th annual Rummage Sale from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on June 13, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on June 14, and 8 a.m. to noon on June 15 ($3 a bag sale day)at the school gym (corner of Wildwood Ave. and CR 92 in St. Bonifacius).


Highland Park Concert

Sat., June 15, 4 p.m. – Cyril Paul and the Calypso Monarchs will play a free concert at Highland Park in Watertown. Free will donations accepted. Food and Beverages sold by the Lions Club. Sponsored by the Watertown Area Fine Arts Council.


Waconia Band Festival

Sat, June 15, 6 p.m. – The 15th annual Lake Waconia Band Festival will begin at 6 p.m. Parade route: Main Street from Orange to Walnut Street and then down Walnut Street from Main to W 3rd Street ending at the Carver County Fairgrounds. Performances by the 12 visiting bands will be at City Square Park, between Vine and Maple Streets (judging area), and at Bayview Elementary. Open to the public. Reserved bleacher seating will be available.


Leidiger Hog Roast

Sat., June 15, 4:30-7:30 p.m. – The annual Rep. Ernie Leidiger hog roast fundraising event will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Leidiger farm, 7775 Tacoma Ave. in Mayer. Appearances expected by many prominent GOP members, including Leidiger, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann, Tom Emmer, 2014 governor hopefuls, state party leadership members Keith Downey, Kelly Fenton, Chris Fields, and others. Baseball Camps

June 17-19 – A three day Dean Bowyer Baseball Camp will be held in Watertown for players ages 8-17. The purpose is to improve the level of play in the Watertown area by instructing and creating a specific development plan for all who attend. Each player will be video taped with comments by the staff, and will receive a written evaluation at the end of the camp on skills to work on. Ages 8-12 will be a Evergreen Park from 9 a.m. to noon all three days. Ages 13-17 will be at Highland Park from 1-4 p.m. all three days. Seminary Fen Walking Tour

Sat. June 22, 10 a.m. – Enjoy a walk through the Seminary Fen Scientific and Natural Area with Steve Eggers, senior ecologist and certified professional wetland scientist with the Regulatory Branch of the St. Paul Army Corps of Engineers. Program will explore the ecological history of the area, identify and introduce Minnesota native plant species, and call attention to the importance of wetlands in Carver County ecology. Carver County Historical Society staff will present a short history on the site’s use since the 1830s. Free and open to the public. Recommended for adults and children ages 12 and older who are able to walk and stand for at least 2 hours.Reservations required. Sign up through the CCHS at 952-442-4234.

Here’s The Beef

Sun., June 23, 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. – Lyndale Lutheran Church, 8012 Cty. Road 6, Maple Plain, will hold its annual Here’s the Beff Polka Picnic and Summer Celebration at the church. Menu includes sliced Hot Roast Beef sandwiches, baked potatoes, baked beans, beverage and all the trimmings with ice cream for dessert. Polka Worship Service by “The Polka Son’s of Praise” from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Picnic, kids games, silent auction and raffle from 11:30-2:30.


Library Open House

Sun., June 23, 2-4 p.m. – The newly remodeled Watertown Library will have an Open House from 2-4 p.m.


Waffle Breakfast

Sun., June 30, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. –  St. Mark Lutheran Church of New Germany will be hosting a Belgian waffle breakfast from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Mark Lutheran School. This fundraiser will go towards purchasing souvenirs marking the 100th anniversary of the church next year. All welcome.

Mayer Rising Festival

Sat., July 13, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. – Come enjoy the fun at the 7th annual festival. Activities include a free 200+ car show, indoor craft show, kids jumpers, petal pull and food. All festivities will take place at the Mayer Community Center and Old Schoolhouse Park, 413 Bluejay Avenue, Mayer. See for additional information.
