Meagan Campbell, a junior at Watertown-Mayer High School, has earned a place in the Minnesota All-State Choir.
After a rigorous audition process, which included sight-reading, tonal memory, and the preparation and performance of an Italian aria, Meagan was chosen as one of the top 250 high school voices in the state of Minnesota. She competed against over 1900 students who auditioned for All-State groups this year, and will attend a week-long music camp in August.
All-State choir performances of the choir will be held at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 10 on the campus of St. John’s University, Collegeville, and again as part of the Minnesota State Music Educator’s convention in Minneapolis in February 2014.
Meagan takes private voice lessons from Mr. Dan Henjum of Delano, and is a member of the Watertown-Mayer Concert Choir, directed by Mrs. Shirlee Gilmore. She is the daughter of Peter and Kris Campbell of Mayer.
