Flood warning issued for Crow River

After between 3 and 6 inches of rain fell in the Carver County area in a 48-hour period, the National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the South Fork of the Crow River, affecting the Mayer and Watertown areas.

The warning went into affect on Monday morning and will last until Saturday morning.  As of Wednesday afternoon, the river was at 13.51 feet, just below its expected crest of 13.7 feet sometime Wednesday evening.

The river is expected to recede the remainder of the week and fall back below the 11-foot flood stage sometime on Sunday.
