Carver County Mental Health Advisory Council recruiting new members

If you are interested in becoming more involved in mental health issues in Carver County, the Mental Health Advisory Council is looking to recruit more members.
The council advises the Carver County Board of Commissioners on the services available to people with mental illness within the county, looking at both successes and areas for improvement.
Anyone with an interest in mental health may apply. Consumers or family members of consumers of mental health services, adults who received mental health services as children or adolescents, and representatives of Carver County’s minority population are particularly encouraged to apply.
Appointments, which are made by the Board of Commissioners, are for three-year terms. Members receive a per diem and mileage reimbursement. Meetings are held the second Tuesday of the month from 4 to 6 p.m. at First Street Center in Waconia.
These meetings are open to the public, so if you would like to attend a meeting first and see if you’re interested in applying for membership, please feel free to do so. To receive a copy of the application, visit the county’s website or contact (952) 361-1503.
