Networking group

TUESDAYS – Lakeside Networkers is a local BNI business networking group that meets weekly on Tuesdays at 7 a.m. at Island View Golf Club in Waconia to share referrals and grow businesses. All are welcome to attend.

Senior Center

TUESDAYS – The Waconia Senior Center is open on Tuesdays from noon to 4 p.m. in the Veterans of Foreign Wars building. Come and socialize.

Waconia AA, Al-Anon

FRIDAYS – The location for the Friday night 8 p.m. AA and Al-Anon meetings will be held at Waconia Moravian Church (209 E. 2nd St.) from May 3-Oct. 31.

Legion, VFW events

The Waconia American Legion holds a sheephead tournament at 7 p.m. on Thursdays and a Texas hold ‘em tournament at 7 and 9 p.m. on Fridays. The Waconia VFW holds a meat raffle Fridays at 7 p.m. and bingo at 1 p.m. on Saturdays.

St. Boni Library activities

The St. Boni Library offers Summer Children’s Programs on Wednesdays at 2:30 p.m.  June 12 – July 24 in the St. Boni City Council Chambers. Master Gardener Help Desk
The Carver/Scott Master Gardeners have a help desk from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday until Labor Day at the Waconia Public Library. No fee, just come and ask questions or bring a sample of a problem.

Delano celebration

JULY 3-6 – The historic Delano Fourth of July Celebration will open Wednesday, July 3, and continue through Saturday, July 6. Fireworks will be at 10:30 p.m. Saturday, July 6. Minnesota’s oldest and largest Fourth of July Parade will take place in Delano at 10:30 a.m. on July 4. Event includes entertainment, dog shows, softball and baseball tournaments, 5K run and much more. Info: www.delano4th.com.

THURSDAY, JULY 4 – 4th of July Lake Waconia Fireworks Festival held at dusk from the south shore of Coney Island. Great viewing from Lake Waconia Regional Park, Cedar Point Park, In Towne Marina, Lola’s Lakehouse, and on Lake Waconia! Listen to patriot tunes during the show at KJGT 88.3FM from 10 to 10:30 p.m. Rain date: Friday, July 5.

Recovery Service

FRIDAY, JULY 5 – The First Friday Recovery Service will be held on the first Friday of every month at 7 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in Waconia. All welcome to attend this informal worship service, designed for anyone looking for support or healing with an emphasis on recovery from addictions. Orchestra benefit concert

SATURDAY, JULY 6 – A benefit concert for the musicians of the Minnesota Orchestra will be held at Sovereign Estate in Waconia. The evening of chamber music with musicians of the Minnesota Orchestra starts at 8 p.m. Suggested donation required. Immunization Clinic

MONDAY, JULY 8 – Carver County Public Health (600 E 4th St, Chaska) will hold an Immunization Clinic from 3 to 5 p.m. Public Health provides immunizations to residents who don’t have health insurance or whose insurance does not cover immunizations. Suicide support group

TUESDAY, JULY 9 – Suicide Bereavement Support Group meets at 6:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at the Waconia Moravian Church (209 E 2ndSt.). Open to anyone who has lost a loved one to suicide. Upcoming meeting: Aug. 13.

Catholic United potluck picnic

TUESDAY, JULY 9 – St. Joseph Catholic United Council will have a summer picnic at the KC Park in Waconia at 5:30 p.m. Refreshments provided; bring a dish to share.

MBC blood drive

WEDNESDAY, JULY 10 – Memorial Blood Center will host a blood drive at St. Joseph Catholic School in Waconia from noon to 7 p.m. Memorial Blood Center supplies all the blood to Ridgeview Medical Center. Veterans Weekend
JULY 12-13 – The Waconia Veterans Appreciation Weekend will be held on Friday and Saturday. See the Wounded Warriors Amputee Softball Team play against MN celebrities at 7 p.m. followed by a meet and greet event at American Legion on Friday. Warriors play Waconia FD at 10:30 a.m. and Waconia area veterans at 1 p.m. on Saturday. All games at Brook Peterson Park. Special veterans recognition program held after final game on Saturday. Community picnic at Carver County Fairgrounds at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Weekend organized by Waconia Lions Club.

St. Boni book sale
JULY 12-13 – The Friends of the St. Boni Library annual used book sale will be held July 12-13 at Old City Hall. Drop off donations of new and used books at the library, 8624 Kennedy Memorial Drive, Mondays and Wednesdays 1-8 and Saturdays 10-3 until  July 10. Info: (612) 543-6100.

SATURDAY, JULY 13 – ArtStock returns to Parley Lake Winery and Deardorff Orchards from 1 to 7 p.m. Enjoy live music, arts and nature in an open air gallery at the winery, located at 8350 Parley Lake Road, Waconia.
