Mayer News for July 18

Mayer Riverside 4-H

There will be a monthly meeting of the Mayer Riverside 4-H club on Sunday, July 21, at 6 p.m. at the Mayer Community Center. New members are always welcome. Give Melanie Menth a call at 612-749-0400 if you would like to join the club. It is well to note there will not be a meeting in August because of the Carver County Fair. Come to the fair and view the 4-H members projects.

Senior Citizens met

Twelve members of the Mayer Senior Citizens group met at the community center on Monday for a pot-luck dinner and Bunco playing. We were treated with a special dessert by Louis and Melba Honebrink in honor of the 65th wedding anniversary. Our next gathering will be on Aug. 5 at 11:30 a.m.

Car and Cycle Show

The Tuesday night Mayer Car and Cycle show, which is being held every Tuesday on Second St. North in Mayer is off to a fine start. I can view many makes and models of vehicles driving past my house before and after the show. The show starts at 5 p.m. and runs until 8 p.m. Give Tom a call at 952-657-2119.

Notes of Importance

Monday, July 22, members of the Mayer City Council will meet at the Community Center at 6:30 p.m

Don’t forget to call the city offices expressing your desire to have a Farmer’s Market in Mayer. I will let you know the results in a future issue of the paper.
