Evangeline C. “Vangie” Peck, age 89, of Excelsior passed away Friday, July 12, 2013 at the Lighthouse in Waconia.
Mass of Christian Burial held Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (680 Mill Street), Excelsior with Father Alex Carlson as Celebrant of the Mass; visitation one hour prior to the Mass at the church; Interment Resurrection Cemetery in Shorewood.
Evangeline was born on Dec. 26, 1923 in Waconia the daughter of Hubert J. and Helen R. (Kranz) Giesen. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waconia. Evangeline was united in marriage to Bertram Peck at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waconia.
Vangie was employed at Lyman Lumber Company in Excelsior for many years. She was a long time parishioner at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Excelsior.
Vangie was preceded in death by her husband Bertram Peck; son Randy Peck; Father and Mother Hubert and Helen Giesen; sister Gladys Giesen; brothers-in-law Frank “Bud” Schelitzche, Wally Peck, Roxy Peck.
Evangeline is survived by her loving family: daughter Susan Peck of Waconia; sister Geraldine “Pat” Schelitzche of Waconia; brothers and sisters-in-law Stanley and Mary Giesen of Waconia, Vincent “Mick” and Sharron Giesen of Waconia; sisters-in-law Betty Peck of Excelsior, Sheila Peck of Renville; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Casket Bears are Vangie’s nephews.
