Obituary: Katherine Vanderlinde

Katherine M. Vanderlinde, age 92 of Victoria, passed away on Friday July 12, 2013, at the Auburn Manor in Chaska.

Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday was July 16, 2013, at 11 a.m. at St. Victoria Historic Catholic Church (8228 Victoria Drive) in Victoria with Father Bob White as Celebrant of the Mass; visitation was from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at church; interment Church Cemetery.

Katherine was born on Oct. 30, 1920, in Watertown, Township the daughter of William and Katherine (Snicker) Stein. She was baptized and confirmed at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown. On Oct. 24, 1942, Katherine was united in marriage to Joseph C. Vanderlinde at St. Boniface Catholic Church in St. Bonifacius.

Katherine loved entertaining and cooking for her family and friends. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards, especially sheephead with husband Joe and their friends, going up North, and going on trips to Las Vegas with her friends. She enjoyed just having a good time. Katherine was involved with the firemen’s wife’s when Joe was fire chief.

Katherine is preceded in death by her husband Joseph C. Vanderlinde; daughter Susan Vanata; parents William and Katherine Stein; brothers Clarence, Howard, and Willard Stein; sisters Etta Stein, Gertrude Stein, and Rosella Vanderlinde.

Katherine is survived by her loving family; children David (Deborah) Vanderlinde of Farmington, Richard Vanderlinde of Aitkin, Douglas Vanderlinde of Malmo, Cathy (Gary) Webster of St. Bonifacius; grandchildren Jennifer and Matt Kelly, Tim and Missy Vanderlinde, Sarah and Aaron Masloski, Louis LaCroix, Joseph and Megan Webster, Heather and Kent Boll; great-grandchildren Kimberly, Nolan, Jacob, Cole, Ashton, Jase; Brother-in-law and sisters-in-law George and Pat Vanderlinde of Watertown, Bernie Vanderlinde of Waconia; nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Casket Bearers are her grandchildren.
