Remax sponsors benefit for The Tim Orth Foundation

Remax Homes of Glencoe is sponsoring a Health & Wellness Benefit featuring Dr. Steve Fjerstad from Back to Nature Wellness Center of Litchfield, along with multiple other exciting speakers while supporting Tate Maurer of Waconia through the Tim Orth Foundation on Saturday, Aug. 3.
The benefit will be held from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at 1930 E 10 St. in Glencoe.
The event is a full-day retreat packed with a variety of health and wellness seminars, breakout sessions and instruction in tai chi, African drum healing, alternative medicine, belly dancing and yoga. Breakfast and lunch will be included. At 5:30 p.m., there will be hot air balloon tethered rides — balloons that are tied down to one spot and hover, as opposed to a fly over. Additionally, the Glencoe-Silver Lake High School Agricultural Department will host their Farmers Market with goods for sale throughout the day.
The event cost is $40 and space is limited, so those interested are encouraged to pre-register to hold their spot. Registration information can be found online at www.TeamJenkins.net or via phone at (952) 992-9299. The registration form and payment can be emailed to michaeleejenkins@remax.net or faxed to (320) 864-6853. The registration deadline is Saturday, July 27. Donations are accepted if one is not able to attend the event.
One of the direct beneficiaries of the event is Maurer, son of Mark and Katie Maurer of Waconia. Maurer was diagnosed with Stage III Burkitt Lymphoma, a type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma (a group of cancers that affect white blood cells), last fall. According to www.timorthfoundation.org, the mission of the Tim Orth Memorial Foundation is to assist, financially or otherwise, children in the west central Minnesota area who are facing substantial medical expenses incurred as a result of a serious accident or illness.
