Obituary: Lowell Hertzog

Obit HertzogLowell Arthur Hertzog, age 74, of Montrose and formerly of Watertown, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2013, at his residence.

He was born on June 11, 1939, in Hutchinson, the son of Paul A. and Florence A. Krekelberg Hertzog.

Lowell was the proprietor of Starlite Bar in Freeport with his father and was the proprietor of Hoffman Shoe Repair and Upholstery with his father-in-law in Watertown for many years.

Survived by his wife: Jo Nell Hertzog; children: John (Barb) Hertzog of Waseca, Mary (Doug) Byrd of Sour Lake, Texas, LouAnn (James) Morrow of Becker and Jim Hertzog of Nya,; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a sister: Joan M. Kegler of Savage, and by a brother: Thomas R. (Deb) Hertzog of Freeport; many other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his first wife: Constance C. Hertzog, his parents: Paul and Florence Hertzog and by a sister: Donna R. Cochran.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Lowell Hertzog was held on Thursday, July 18, at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Father Paul Schumacher was be the Celebrant.

A visitation was held on Thursday, July 18, from 9:30-11:00 a.m.. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. A Rosary was held at 10:45 a.m.

Casket Bearers were Darren Keiper, Drake Mosford, Nicole Hertzog, Jessica Hertzog, Stephanie Hertzog and Joseph Hertzog.
