Remelva E. Roepke, age 83, of St. Michael and formerly Waconia, passed away Friday, July 19, 2013 at Parkview Care Center in Buffalo.
Funeral Service was Tuesday, July 22, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Waconia Moravian Church in Waconia with Rev. David Glasser officiating; visitation was Monday, July 21, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment in the Zoar Moravian Cemetery in Waconia.
Remelva E. Roepke was born on Feb. 18, 1930 in Chaska the daughter of Henry and Lydia (Morschen) Schwalbe. She was united in marriage with Frederick H. Roepke Jr. on March 1, 1949 at the Waconia Moravian Church. This union was blessed with children Linda, Frederick, Laurie, Terry, Lisa and Lesley.
Remelva made her home in Waconia until moving to St. Michael in 2000.   She was employed at Tonka Toys, Birchwood Labs, and had operated a home daycare business. She was a faithful member of the Waconia Moravian Church and helped out wherever needed. Remelva enjoyed flowers, gardening, camping and traveling with family. She was a dedicated Minnesota Twins fan. Remelva cherished the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Remelva is preceded in death by her parents Henry and Lydia Schwalbe; father-in-law and mother-in-law Frederick and Augusta Roepke; brothers Marvin and Henry Schwalbe, Jr.; and brothers-in-law Ardell Roepke and William Klatt.
Remelva is survived by her loving family: husband Frederick Roepke, Jr. of St. Michael; children and their spouses Linda and Scott Nesheim of Ramsey, Frederick and Alice Roepke III of Eugene, Ore., Laurie and Allan Milbrandt of Gaylord, Terry and Rena Roepke of St. Paul, Lisa and Craig Gust of St. Michael, Lesley and Monte Staley of Bellingham, Wash.; grandchildren Lindsay and Anthony Watson, Dale and Angela Steinborn, Clinton Steinborn, Andrew and Christina Roepke, Nichole Roepke, Alexandra Roepke, Cassandra Gust, Melissa Gust, Tiffane Staley, Charles Staley; great-grandchildren  Kaitlynn, Jessyca, Brandyn, Remington, Alexis, and Lauren; sisters and brother-in-law Elaine Roepke of Cokato, Lorraine Klatt of Renville, and Arlene and Richard Forner of Hamburg; sister-in-law Lillian Schwalbe of Waconia; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
